Rainfall To Increase In Odisha From Tomorrow; Fishermen Advised Not To Venture Into Sea

Bhubaneswar, Sept 13: Heavy rain is likely to lash north Odisha today under the influence of a low-pressure area formed over southeast Bangladesh and neighbourhood  lash night. 

The low pressure is likely to move slowly west-northwestwards and intensify into a depression over coastal West Bengal and adjoining northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 48 hours.

According to the India Meteorological Department, the quantum of rainfall will increase from tommorrow. However, Kalahandi district has been issued orange warning with the prediction of heavy rainfall today. 

The Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar has issued orange warning, predicting heay rains, to the districts of Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Rayagad and Gajapti
Three districts- Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh are likely to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall between 70 and 200 MM tomorrow. The Centre has issued an orange warning to these three districts. 

Besides, yellow warning of heavy rainfall has been issued to the districts of Jharsuguda, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Jajpur, Bargarh, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Balasore and Bhadrak.
Wind will blow from 40 to 50 km per hour during the rainfall, said the Meteorological Centre. 

Fishermen have been warned not to venture into the sea from tomorrow till September 15.
